A Look Inside & Out...
by Tracy Levitz (blogged every week or so...)
This tour of the internet begins in the Pop Culture category with POCKiTZINE : the  mobile events, entertainment and pop culture guide.
POCKiTZINE
Designed for mobile devices, it's basically your week-to-go with handpicked TV listings, an events and trivia calendar, current movies and DVD releases and planet/weather news. Yes, it's one of our projects and, while we're terribly proud of it -- there is absolutely nothing like POCKiTZINE on the internet --  we're also constantly improving it. If you're one of the Thumb People, try it. You'll like it.   If you live in or plan to be in NY, LA, London, Chicago or Miami (or wish you did), you'll findFlavorpill Flavorpill useful. They'll tell you where to go and what to see, the good stuff. Personally, I make use of their fine assortment of newsletters -- newsletters that I actually read after signing up for. My favorite comes from the site's "cultural news & critique" section, Flavorwire. With features like 10 Awesome and Inappropriate Books for Children, you're guaranteed to be both entertained and culturally enlightened. If your taste in Cheeseworld travel and international attractions is lower-brow, visit the immensely forward-able Cheese On Tour.  User-submitted photos of cheese in famous places. While on the subject of forward-able, found hilarity, Passive Aggressive Notes  is also a world tour but of carefully, or not-so-carefully, worded and hand-lettered notes and signage. Best LinksWe're reaching the end of this entry and realize no tour is complete without souvenirs. If you're following us on Twitter (@Blarchive), perhaps you recall this featured link, online catalog American Science & Surplus ("Items Just Off the LinksTruck"). I love this site and not just because of the design and copywriting. A great place to window-shop, you'll be intrigued by wares such as squirrel underwear, UV jewelers loupes, yo-yos and electrical tape. If you're in the mood to buy, they're cheap, too.

A Primer to Getting the Most out of Blarchive
by Tony Caravan

First of all, welcome... Blarchive, or the 'blog-archive' was designed as an alternative to the advertising-driven search engines -- where it's starting to get hard to separate the pay-to-plays from the genuine search results. We also wanted to provide easier access to information and websites for mobile devices (with touch-screen viewports), as well as traditional desktop PCs.

Blarchive is constantly undergoing revisions... Having thousands of listings, it takes a full-time staff to check the links, update the descriptions and make sure everything is current. By doing this, our goal is to provide the visitor with a useful resource to explore the web, but more importantly, to help people find what they're looking for with minimum effort (no keystrokes).

In each of the categories (music, video, etc.), the links at the very top of the page are the most recent additions. In the case of more static sections such as 'news' or 'sports,' the order has no significance.

You will also note that under some listings there is an arrow (>) with the phrase "also see" or "more of this." These links lead to related categories -- some of which are subsets not found on the main categories listed on the home page.

At the bottom of most of the pages we provide a suggestion box, where people can enter the name or URL of a site they would like us to include. Your input is appreciated.

Blog Format
If you haven't figured it out yet, this blog was designed to fit the new Apple iPad. And, say what you will about the various e-readers, sooner or later we will all have to accept that they will be the devices that millions of people view books, periodicals and the internet in the years ahead.
